Dayle B. Ritchey of Point Pleasant, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, just one day after his 72nd birthday. He was born in Altoona, PA, but his family moved to NJ while he was still young and ultimately settled in Bricktown. Dayle married his teenage sweetheart, Judith Marie Mills, in 1967 and they raised their 3 sons in Point Pleasant. He worked for many years at the Oyster Creek nuclear facility but, having left that company due to downsizing, ultimately retired from Church & Dwight in Lakewood. He loved the Statler Brothers and classic cars, and his enthusiasm for motorcycling rubbed off on all his boys (much to their mother’s dismay). Dayle is predeceased by his father, Gayle Ritchey; his mother, Evelyn Showalter Ritchey; and his wife, Judith. He is survived by his sons, Michael Ritchey and his fiancée Amy Dwyer of Point Pleasant, Douglas Ritchey and his wife Pamela of Toms River, and Jeffery Ritchey and Nicole Latif of Beachwood; and 7 grandchildren: Ian, Paige, Shane, Tyler, Alex, Stephanie, and Jessica. He is also survived by his sister, June Ritchey Rorabaugh and husband Bob; his brother, Dave Thompson and wife Terry; and more nieces and nephews than you can shake a stick at. Visitation will be on Sunday, February 18, 2018 from 4-7 at Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, 39 South St. Manasquan, NJ. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 11 am at Manasquan United Methodist Church, with a brief graveside service to follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Brielle.

Now Dayle and his sweetheart, Judy, will be together again for eternity. May that be a comfort to all of us who love them. We will miss Dayle as we've been missing Judy. Our lives were enriched for being a part of theirs. We send our deepest condolences to Mike, Doug, Jeff and all the family, and regret that we cannot be there in person. But, be assured you are in our hearts and prayers. With love, Linda and Ron Denton and Steve

This being the Lenten week, Christ rode into Jerusalem on a donkey to fulfill the promise that was made. But Doug, for your dad, and the rest of us, our journey will be on the wings of angels in fulfillment of that ancient covenant. May the saints welcome him to the mansion of our Father.
