Lois Fitzsimmons Campbell was born March 27, 1926 to Emily and J. Charles Fitzsimmons in Newark, NJ. Known to all as Big Lo—Lois was a graduate of Columbia High School in Maplewood, NJ. She worked as a bookkeeper for Seton Hall university and met her husband Richard “Dick” Campbell at a gas station in Maplewood NJ after asking him to “please check my oil.” Lois was a lover of good conversation and the occasional cocktail. She enjoyed knitting, painting, drawing, the beach, shopping, wintering in Florida, a good game of bridge and playing golf. She made the best cheesecakes and deviled eggs. Until the day she died she insisted on wearing red lipstick and having her hair done just right. She was loving mother to sons Rich and Tom, known as grandma Lo to Chris and Sarah and Jimmy and Ellie. Her laugh was truly unforgettable. She will be sorely missed.

Mrs. Campbell was pre-deceased by her husband Richard in 2013 and is survived by her sons, Richard and his wife Patricia of Wall and Thomas and his wife Penny of Stirling, NJ; grandchildren Chris Campbell of Richmond, VA, Sarah Campbell Phelan and Matt Phelan of Annapolis, MD; great grandsons, Declan, Kellan and Gavin Phelan.
