Weather and I met in the late 80’s . I was looking to play in a band and answered a ad in the Voice magazine)looking for Drummer) . I had idea what I was getting myself into. I met him at a local diner. He was sitting at the counter. I said water! Yeah ! All I can say here was this tall beautiful black man who was a gentle giant ! Great bass player, funny, and a man of God! We talked often about Jesus after practice. Our band was Small Talk. Prayers to the family and Boo Boo my heart breaks 💔. I see you again Walter, say hello to my mom!

Walter my dear good friend it seems like only a few months ago we chat at Facebook and you told me that when you retire you wanted to move out here in the Las Vegas area. I was devastated to hear that you have left us to go to heaven to play for us once more! I remember playing in the band Horizon with you, Ronald, Richie and Lenny. May you R.I.P. in Paradise until we meet again!

Your good friend, Caleb

I am shocked to just read of Walt....he was the most friendly, caring, giving, and helpful man in Manasquan. He lived his beliefs every day. The world around Joe's church will never be the same....and he sure will be missed.....

Although I new Walt for less than a year, performing with him in the Shore Bet Band was both a pleasure and an honor. It was a great day when he joined the Band! He was one of the best bass guitarist that I have ever played with - and could sing beautifully. We often joked about sharing the same surname - and, yes - he felt like a brother to me. You will be sorely missed. Peace brother - I'll always remember you.

He was patient with me before we even met! Being neighbors back in the 90's I used to throw a tennis ball against the wooden steps our front porch. At 15, I clearly had no regard for how disturbing the noise was... Until I met Walt. Since then he would jokingly mention it whenever we shared our history. I'll miss you every day. 💔🎼

Our sincere sympathy is extended to Walter's immediate family.
Walter loved music. He was active in the care of Cathy, his wife and was a loving father. He glowed with pride at his daughter's wedding speaking to the love he had for his family. He will be missed by those that loved him. May he rest in peace. Condolences to family and friends.
