Anna Marie Torgersen

Anna (Anne) Marie Torgersen of Sarasota, FL died on Oct. 7 after a short illness. She was born on Staten Island, New York in 1922 to John J. Finan and Anna Lankford Finan. Anne graduated from Tottenville High School on Staten Island and later secretarial school. She married the love of her life William (Bill) Torgersen in 1946. Anne was active in Our Lady Queen of Peace Church and Mother’s Club (Staten Island), Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Short Hills, NJ, and later Saint John’s Catholic Church in Lakehurst, NJ. Anne was preceded in death by her loving husband Bill after 48 years of marriage, her parents, half-brothers John M Finan and James A. Finan, and her half sister Lucille Finan Hillpot. Her thoughtfulness and sense of humor will be missed by her daughters Judith T. Snow (John) and Joan T. Uranga (Jose), her grandchildren Todd (Kira), David, and Lauren Uranga (Wolfgang Boehl) and great-grandsons Keegan Uranga and Lucas and Ian Boehl. Visitation will be on Friday from 2 to 4 and 5 to 7 p.m. at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, NJ 08759. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday in St. John’s Church, 619 Chestnut Street, Lakehurst, NJ 08733. Burial will follow in the St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery in Lakewood, NJ.
