Virginia Lee Wortham
April 29, 1942 – May 8, 2020
Virginia Lee LoCicero Wortham (Ginny) of Inks Lake, TX went home to God’s loving arms on May 8, 2020. She was 78 years old. She was born on April 29, 1942, to Joseph and Claire LoCicero in Niagara Falls, NY.
Ginny attended high school at The International School in Geneva, Switzerland. After graduating she returned to the United States to attend Columbia University (Barnard College) in New York. She graduated from Barnard with her bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1964 and married her husband, Michael Wortham, the same year. The couple’s daughters, Wendy and Laura, were born in 1969 and 1971. After many transfers, the family settled in Houston, TX in 1980.
After devoting her time to raising her family, Ginny went to work for ConocoPhillips in 1986 as an Executive Assistant. She retired from ConocoPhillips as a pricing analyst in 2001. After retirement she and Michael moved to Inks Lake.
Ginny loved to cook and entertain. She delighted in preparing meals so amazing, the president of the company Mike worked for (who fancied himself a gourmet of the highest caliber and only ate in the finest restaurants) ran into the kitchen, knelt down and kissed her hand after just one bite. True story! She had a green thumb and cultivated award winning orchids. She was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Marble Falls. She volunteered with and was incredibly passionate about the Christian Women’s Job Corps (CWJC), an organization dedicated to assisting women in need in the development of life skills and employment education. She also spent time volunteering on a mobile medical van which provides healthcare services in under-served communities. She leaves behind a legacy of service, faith, and countless acts of loving kindness, both seen and unseen.
Ginny is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Michael David Wortham of Inks Lake, TX; daughter Wendy Wortham of Houston, TX; daughter Laura Wortham of New York, NY; grandchildren Emily and Greyson Philippovic of Houston, TX; brother Joseph LoCicero Jr. of Rosenberg TX; and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Claire LoCicero.
A service celebrating Ginny’s wonderful life will be held on a later date to be determined.
In lieu of flowers please send donations in Ginny’s name to: CWJC P.O. Box 1433 Burnet, TX 78611

What a privilege it was to know Ginny. She will be missed by me and many, many others. I spent one memorable Thanksgiving at Mike and Ginny’s house in Houston. What a feast!
I copied her centerpiece for many years at my house and thought of that special feast each time I used it.
Love and comfort to Mike, Wendy, and Laura
