Dorothy Mae Armke was peacefully welcomed home by her Savior Jesus Christ while at Avow Hospice on October 15, 2018. Dorothy was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas with a brief period spent in Houston. Dorothy was the daughter of Albert and Lillie Armke, the sister of Peggy, Robert and Alice. Dorothy graduated from Brackenridge H.S. and enjoyed working at Kelly A.F.B. while performing in the chorus at the Groesbeck Theater and the San Antonio Opera House.
Dorothy married Pablo H. Flores and enjoyed being the mother of their four children, Bianca Magdalena, Pablo (Paul) Humberto Jr., John Erich and Silvia Ann. The family traveled from San Antonio to St. Louis, Missouri, then to Indianapolis, Indiana and finally settled in Freeport, New York. While in Freeport, Dorothy owned and operated the Act One Dance Studio. Dorothy later moved to Bay Shore, New York. Residing in Naples, Florida for the past twenty-two years, she cared for patients in the Home Health field until retirement. Dorothy loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, animals and gardening. Her favorite pastime was researching and compiling her family genealogy.
Dorothy is survived by her eldest daughter; son Pablo (Paul) Flores and wife Linda of Marco Island, Florida with their two sons Matthew and his wife Taylor, and Bryan; son John Erich Flores and wife Wendy of Morganton, North Carolina with their daughter Melissa and husband Sal with four great grandchildren, their daughter Kristen and husband Eric with two great grandchildren, their sons John and Adam; daughter Silvia Ann Flores with her daughter Cerese and son Lars; her sister Alice West and husband Loren of Phenix City Alabama, niece Kimberly and husband John and their two children; nephew Michael with his two children, and niece Sandy, daughter of Robert (deceased), with three children.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Marco Presbyterian Church, 875 West Elkcam Circle, Marco Island, on November 10, 2018 at 11 AM. Condolences and memories can be conveyed at www.hodgesjosberger.com.
Dorothy was thankful for her church family that brought her the love of Jesus in these last days.
