Richard Carroll Wise, 53, of Marengo, IL passed away on the evening of September 6th, 2018 at Advocate Sherman Hospital surrounded by his loving family. His death was sudden and due to compounding heart complications. Born in Ames, IA on March 26th, 1965 to Dr. Robert E. and Trudy E. Wise, he was the oldest of three children. Rick was raised in Elgin, IL where he participated in Indian Guides, was a counselor at Camp Edwards, and assisted his father in his equine practice. He was an avid bow hunter, fisherman, and loved spending time with his family in Colorado. He was employed by Johnson Oil Shell in Marengo and was a joy to all of his customers. He is survived by his wife Julie (Yurs-Steele), his son Corey, his daughter Keely, his mother Trudy Wise, his sister Kathleen (Troy) Agney of Strasburg, IL; as well as, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, brother Alan Wise, and his niece Courtney Agney. He was a son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and friend to all. Please join us for a celebration of his life on Saturday September 22nd at Marengo-Union Funeral Home in Marengo, IL from 3-8pm (5pm service) and then again on Saturday September 29th at Wesley United Methodist Church in Elgin, IL from 1-3pm (2pm service).
