Janet S. Cardell

Janet Smith Cardell, 79, of Marietta passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 30, 2013. Janet was born to the late Ed and Rosalyn Smith on July 25, 1934. Janet graduated from St. Joseph Nursing School in 1954. She was married to the late George Alfred Cardell for over 50 years. They lived in Austell and Marietta. Her daughters and grandchildren were her greatest joy in life. She enjoyed every holiday and celebration to the fullest. She loved tennis, Hilton Head Island, the Braves, and her women friends. Janet was a member of Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Julie and Jeff Hutchings, Dede and Ricky Paul, and Nina and Bud Bullock; 8 grandchildren, Zak Hutchings and wife Anna, Allison Hutchings, Brian Paul, Jessica Cranford and her husband Adam, Christopher Paul, Wesley Lanier and his wife Heather, and Will and Addie Rose Bullock great grandson Wyatt Hutchings; brothers Bubba Smith, Mike Smith, and the late Jere Smith; and sister, Sue Frankforther. A celebration of life will be held at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church, Friday, November 1, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. The family will receive friends before the service from 2- 3 p.m. at Mt. Bethel.
