OBITUARY

Mary Elizabeth Moravitz

August 9, 1955March 25, 2016

Mary Elizabeth Schuette Moravitz, 60, of Marietta, died March 25, 2016 at Kennestone Hospital. A native of Scranton, PA, she is survived by her husband, the Rev. Dr. Albert Benjamin Moravitz. She was preceded in death by her parents, the Rev. Carl Albert and Wilma Jean Chandler Schuette of Spartanburg, SC. She was a paralegal specialist with the U.S. Department of Justice - FBI, Atlanta and had worked for law firms and solicitors in Greenwood, SC, Columbia, SC, Louisville, KY, and Charleston, SC and for the attorney general in Atlanta. She was a graduate of Spartanburg High School, Spartanburg, SC and of Newberry College, Newberry, SC. Also surviving are her daughter, Elizabeth Jean “Bess” (Jeff) Yunek of Marietta and her son, Joseph Karl Moravitz of Johns Creek and her brothers, Albert Jesse Schuette of Leesburg, GA and Robert Louis Schuette of Woodruff, SC. Visitation will be at 6:00 p.m., a memorial service at 7:00 p.m., and a reception following on Wednesday, March 30 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2922 Sandy Plains Rd., Marietta, GA 30066. Mary was a musician and supporter of the arts. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, designated for “Friends of Music,” 731 Peachtree St. NE, Atlanta, GA 30308 or to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, designated for “Sunday Music Ministry,” at the address above.
