John Gregory Koncer, 83 of Martinsburg, passed away peacefully at his home on September 5, 2019. Born on June 15, 1936, he was the son of Josef Koncer and Mary Rehak. John was employed with the chain grocery store A&P for thirty eight years before he retired. He became a stone mason and worked on historical places in and around the Martinsburg area. John was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association; he was an avid hunter and enjoyed traveling. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers: Joseph and Frank Koncer; a sister, Libby Crawford; and niece, Diane. John is survived by his long-time companion of twenty years, Lena Poole; one nephew, Nick Crawford; a niece, Mary Burkett; and two cousins: Theresa Duncan and Carol Norris. Friends will be received on Friday, September 20th from 10am until the time of the memorial service at 11am at Rosedale Funeral Home.

John was a sweet and kind soul and will be greatly missed. His stone work was of a caliber few others have achieved. He loved his property and especially the trees that made up his beautiful forest.

John was a very good man. He was a very honorable and very caring man..He was a avid hunter and sportsman who believed in doing the right things in life..He will truly be missed. And truly a loss for those that knew him...
