Charles was a devoted dad - always there to support you. Losing someone
who has been a constant in our lives leaves an empty place in the heart. Our
thoughts and hearts will be with you in the days ahead.

We remember you best, Chuck & Jeff, as two little boys on bicycles on Forest Street. It was so good to see you both looking so well. You have become such handsome and capable young men. We are so proud of you!

Please E-Mail us occasionally to keep in touch. Ernie & Joy Beggarly,

I knew Charles when we were in school during the 50's. We both loved playing football and hanging out downtown on weekends. He was a great guy and pleasant to get along with. I will miss him. My condolences to the family.

I hadn't seen Charles since our school days but I always remembered him as he was on the 1954 VSDB football team which went undefeated. I also recall that Charles parents rarely missed one of the games as they were faithful followers of the team. Lost contact with Charles but he will always be in our, Evelyn and I, memories. Rest in peace Charles and by the way I also worked at the Martinsville Bulletin before Charles. Rest in peace and hope you are back with your dear wife. jack and evelyn yates

Chuck, Jeff and families,
I have fond memories of working with your Dad at the Bulletin for many years. He was a delight to work with and always had a smile for you . . . just like the one in the picture you selected. May you cherish his memory as well as your Mom . . . two beautiful people.
Love and prayers, Shirley Martin
