Doris Walker Harris, 89, of Martinsville, died Monday, January 24, 2011 at Blue Ridge Manor where she was a resident. She was born in Penhook, Virginia on July 26, 1921 to Daniel Washington Walker, Sr. and Eva Musgrove Walker. She was retired from DuPont and was a member of Broad Street Christian Church.
Doris was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling and gardening.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Curtis W. Williams, Susie W. Hatchett and Libby W. DeBoe and one brother, Daniel W. Walker, Jr.
She is survived by three nephews and one niece.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 28, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville where the family will receive friends one half hour prior to the service. The Rev. Clint Spivey will officiate and entombment will follow in Roselawn Abbey.
