Bound and determined cancer would not get even one hour of her 30th anniversary with her beloved “Eddie”, Eva M Bovenkamp took her first solo ride at midnight and went home September 21, 2018. Having ridden the Queen seat of their Harley for 30 years, Eva was known as “Ma” by her many lifelong friends across the country. The couple were regulars at Sturgis, Daytona, The Oyster Run, Badger Mountain Boogie, and many rallies throughout the state.
Born to Ronald Brantigan and Teresa Cork (Pawlaw) on June 6, 1959 in Shreveport, LA, Eva was an Air Force brat. She lived in Japan and all over the US, finally settling in Spokane. Eva worked as a chef for 35 years, was an avid gardener, and a colorist extraordinaire. Yet her pride and joy was her granddaughter, Lily, and Eva cherished being “Meemaw” most of all.
Gone ahead of Eva are her father, Ronald Brantigan and brother Richard Cork. Eva is survived by husband Ed, sons Doran Borchert and Nathan Okeneske, and granddaughter, Lily Okeneske. She will also be greatly missed by her mother, Teresa Cork, brothers John (Jan) Brantigan, Steve Cork, and Waylon (Mariah) Cork and numerous nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, October 6, 11 AM, at the Kellogg Marsh Grange Hall, 10005 67th Ave NE, Marysville. Memorials suggested to Hospice Care Center at Providence Hospital, 1700 13th Street, Everett, WA 98201
