Tena was born September 28, 1931 in Lynden, Wash. to John and Cora Matter. She took her walk into the Lord’s hands on September 20, 2018, while surrounded by her Family. She is preceded in death by her husband Eugene (Gish) McCrillis; siblings, Marguerite Bangassar and Peter Matter. Tena is survived by her only daughter and son-in-law, Debbie (Darrel) Sholtz; sisters, Augusta Roodzant and Connie Clements; grandkids, Thomas E. Dammann, Tricia Green, Cari (John) Greer, Jason, Jeffrey, Janae Sholtz; multiple nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She also leaves the “joys of her life”, her great-grandkids, Colton, Caleb, and Curtis Greer; Clayton, Abbey and Savannah Dammann, Samuel and Carol-ann Sholtz, Julien Scroggs. Family meant the world to her as she cherished every moment with them whether holidays, playing card games or matches of Dominoes. Tena lived most of her life in Snohomish County, Wash and worked hard supporting herself for many years, starting in Grocery, as a cashier for several years and then as a Medical Records Specialist at General Hospital in Everett, WA where she retired. She enjoyed camping and was always there for her family. She is a cancer survivor and had a strong will to conquer multiple medical ailments over the years. Even though her body was starting to fail her mind forever remained sharp. While she is finally resting in peace we will miss her dearly, forever in our Hearts. A celebration of Tena's life will be November 17, 2018 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at Stillaguamish Senior Center, 18308 Smokey Pt. Blvd, Arlington, WA.
