JoAnn Poore, 78 of Aylett, Virginia, passed away surrounded by her family at Bon Secours Memorial Regional Hospital on March 18, 2019. She was born April 24, 1940 in Huntington, West Virginia to Lyle Spurlock and Dorothy McGraw. She later moved to Virginia where she married her late husband, Clyde Bradley Poore, Sr.
She is survived by her two children, Clyde Bradley Poore, Jr., with his wife, Karen and Jacqueline Ann Holzman, with her husband, Jason. She has six grandchildren that she absolutely adored: Ashley, Taylor, Hailey, Caitlin, Wes, Justin; and Rhett, her great grandchild.
All that knew her loved her. She had a generous heart and would help anyone that ever needed her. Her strength, her smile, and all of her funny sayings will always be remembered. And of course, we will never forget her famous sweet pickles and canned tomatoes, not to mention that amazing coconut pie.
Family, friends, and others whose lives JoAnn may have touched are invited to services at Forest Lawn Cemetery on April 2, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. There will be a reception immediately following at The Rutland House, 8400 Combs Drive, Mechanicsville, VA 23116 to share some of our favorite memories, stories, and remember a wonderful person who will be greatly missed.
