Carmen Wilson Armstrong, 89, of Memphis, Tennessee passed away peacefully on March 18, 2018. Mr. Armstrong was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served the Memphis area as an auto mechanic at the Poplar and Perkins Sears Auto Center. He was an avid fan of the University of Tennessee Volunteers, enjoyed tinkering in his workshop, and spending time with his three granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty years, Delores Armstrong, who passed in February of 2016; his parents, Clem and Lillian Armstrong; and his sister, Lillian Russell Armstrong Yarbro. Mr. Armstrong is survived by his son, Rick Armstrong (Sarah) of Memphis, Tennessee; his brother, Danny Armstrong (Anita) of Dyersburg, Tennessee; and his granddaughters, Hayley, Katie, and Ella-Grace. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 23 from five o'clock until eight o'clock at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 24 at eleven o'clock at Finch Cemetery, 788 Greene Road 715, Paragould, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Armstrong's honor may be sent to Baptist Reynolds Hospice House in Collierville, Tennessee.
