Emma Jean Pierotti, 87, lifelong Memphian, died May 26, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital here in Memphis. The daughter of the late Otto & Amelia Camurati, Emma Jean was a high school graduate of St. Agnes Academy were she was later selected as one of the outstanding graduates at the school’s 150th Anniversary Celebration. She then attended Memphis State University. Mrs. Pierotti was a member of Unico who in 1999 honored her as the “Outstanding Italian of the Year”. She was past president of the Auxiliary to the Memphis Bar Association and State Bar Association. She also served on several local boards including the Memphis City Beautiful Commission and the Memphis Chapter of the American Cancer Society. Her family will receive guests on Thursday, May 31 from 12PM – 1:30PM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens. Procession will then leave the funeral home for a graveside service beginning at 2PM in Calvary Cemetery where Msgr. John McArthur will be the celebrant. Mrs. Pierotti was preceded in death by her husband Probate Judge Leonard D. Pierotti. She is survived by her niece Beverly Camurati Thomas, nephew James D. Camurati and great-niece Merry Beth Camurati; the three of whom were here caregivers. Mrs. Pierotti is also survived by another nephew, five other great-nieces and a great nephew. Mrs. Pierotti requested any memorials be sent to the scholarship fund of St. Agnes Academy, Madonna Circle or Ave Maria Home.
