H. Thomas Lloyd, age 78, went to be with Jesus on October 16, 2020 from his home surrounded by his family’s love. Tom was born July 12, 1942 in Princeton, KY to Harold Virgil Lloyd and Nella Mae McDaniels Lloyd but moved with his family to Memphis as an infant.
He attended Central High School where he played football, then graduated from the University of Memphis in 1966. Tom realized his dream of becoming an architect later and finally opened his own business. He was a member of A.I.A. and worked on hundreds of projects in the Memphis area. He was a faithful member of Central Church where he coached baseball for 25 years and served as a Sunday School facilitator with jokes each Sunday. He led a small Bible study group in his home for 20 plus years. Tom enjoyed an active life of square dancing, country western dancing, camping trips with family & friends, golf, and pickleball. He loved his Lord and showed that love to everyone he served and worked with. His family will miss him until we meet again.
Tom is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carrye; his son, Charles (Eva); his daughter, Deborah (Chip); his brother, David (Susan); his sister, Alta; four precious grandchildren, Lauren (Justin), Keely, Logan, Kamren and a sunshining great-grandaughter, Kynlee; many wonderful nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 23, 2020 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN 38122, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm.
