James Richard Galluzzi, 83, passed away on Tuesday, 9/17/2019 at Kindred Hospital, Melbourne, FL while surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 9, 1936 in New Haven, CT. He was the oldest of one other brother Robert Galluzzi. He was predeceased by his wife Joan of 54 years and son Dickie Galluzzi mother Mary and father James Vincent. He served our nation with great honor with the US Air Force and retired in 1980 with 26 years of service. Jim had a great passion for ice hockey, service the Tampa Bay Lighting and the NHL as Supervisor of Off-Ice Officials for 24 years. His entrepreneurial interests lead him to become an importer of wines. He was the former owner of Vintage Selections located in Cape Canaveral, FL. He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife, Ilene, daughter Donna (Steve) Kautz, son Jim (Lori) Galluzzi, daughter Jo-Anne Galluzzi-Clarke, son Michael (Kim) Galluzzi, granddaughter Claire Galluzzi, grand stepson Will (Savannah) Miller, Brandon Miller. He was a member of Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Merritt Island, FL and served the Church as a Eucharistic Minister. Visitation will be Sunday, September 22, 2109 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home 1360 N. Courtenay Pkwy, Merritt Island. Burial arrangements will be at St. Lawrence Cemetery in West Haven, CT. Memorial contributions in honor of Mr. Galluzzi may be made to Veterans Memorial Center 400 S. Sykes Creek Parkway Merritt Island, FL 32952.

Uncle Richard was an amazing man. He was our dads cousin. We so admired everything he did. We will always remember growing up going to Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Marie’s house in Orange CT. Great memories. My Nonny’s brother Uncle Jimmy a great man. We will always remember going to Florida to see Uncle Richard and Aunt Joanne. Great memories. Hope Uncle Richard is hanging out with our Dad John in heaven ❤️❤️😘🙏🏻 Love Kim, Tom & Erin Cally. And Geraldine Licciardi.
