She loved music and dancing, laughing, traveling, and spending quality time with family and friends. She was known to start moving as soon as the music started and would jump into a line dance at any time. She will be remembered for living her life with kindness and gratitude, her love for others, her quick wit, and her ability to connect with everyone she met.
She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Tina Meilleur (Robert Hand) and Peggy Meilleur Mendel (August “Benny” Mendel), Hector Nash, her loving husband of 32 years, her sister and brother-in-law, Alma Seal (Ronald Seal), her loving niece and her husband, Cynthia Giblin (Patrick Giblin). She is also survived by her five step-grandchildren, Nathaniel Hand, Angie Mendel Wallace, Audy Mendel, Jesse Mendel, and Jody Mendel.
She was widowed in 1985, when she lost her loving husband of 31 years, Raymond Meilleur. Together, they raised their two daughters while building a fun, wonderful life for their family. As empty-nesters, they enjoyed traveling and gathering with friends.
She spent over 25 years working for Alcoa, supporting their plants around the world. She kept many balls in the air throughout her life and did so with ease and grace. After her retirement, she also volunteered at Lakeside Hospital.
The family hopes to be joined by her extended family, friends, former employees of Alcoa, and members of their McDonald’s Breakfast Group for a celebration of her life.
