Carolyn B DeBlanc age 80 passed away at East Jefferson General Hospital, Metairie, Louisiana on December 6th, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was born on February 11th, 1938 in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Mildred Ackerman and Palmer Borges. Carolyn attended Tulane University and graduated with a Masters Degree in Education. On April 4th, 1970 she married David Joseph DeBlanc and they have 5 children. Carolyn and David loved spending time with family and friends from the Mardi Gras Club, St Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Church, St Ann Catholic Church, St Philip Neri Catholic Church, and Our Lady of Divine Providence Catholic Church. Carolyn was also a nun for 10 years in the order of the Most Holy Sacrament. She was an avid reader often devouring a whole entire novel in a day. Carolyn taught art at New Orleans Military Academy and was a math and physical education teacher at Ecole Classique where she loved seeing her students succeed often tutoring them over the summer vacation. She is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, David Joseph DeBlanc, and 5 children; Lisa DeBlanc Buel, Denise DeBlanc, David DeBlanc Jr, Nicole DeBlanc Barbee, and Shawn DeBlanc Artrip, her sisters; Joan Morel Carver and Diane Schwab, her brothers; Robert Morel and Charles R Morel III, her step-father; Charles R Morel, Jr., plus 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at 11:00 am on Wednesday December 12, 2018 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 6500 Kawanee Ave, Metairie, Louisiana 70003. Visitation will be from 10:30 am to 11:00 am. In Lieu of flowers, the family would prefer masses to be said for Carolyn and the family.
