Obituary of Douglas Clayton Campbell
Douglas C. Campbell of Metairie, Louisiana passed away on Friday, May 13, 2022, after a long and fulfilling life. He was 82 years old. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn D. Campbell and his father Jack Clayton Campbell, his mother, Lovie Lorraine Campbell, and his brother Paul V. Campbell, and his in-laws Edley J. Daigle, Ruby Daigle, Jack Avery, Elaine Daigle, and Ruth Daigle. He is survived by his children, Steven Keith Campbell and his wife Roxanne, Jeffery Mark Campbell, and Jayne Katherine de Clouet and her husband Chris, his grandchildren: Cara Campbell, Hannah Campbell, Hayden de Clouet, Carson Campbell, Kaleb Campbell, and Harrison de Clouet, his brother Dr. Doyle R. Campbell and his wife Jean, and his sisters: Carol L. Avery, and Doris J. Palazzolo and her husband Ray and his in-laws: Edley J. Daigle, Jr. and his wife Carolyn, David Daigle, Lloyd Daigle and his wife Cynthia, and Katherine Gautreaux and her husband Roy, along with many devoted and loving extended family, friends, nieces, and nephews. Born in 1939 in Hartford, Alabama, Doug was a loving husband and dedicated father to his 3 children. He retired from Shell after a 35-year career working as a chemist, inspector, and inspector supervisor. Doug had a passion for family and friends and enjoyed going to the beach. He is loved and will be remembered fondly by everyone he knew. Visitation will be from 6:00pm – 8:00pm on Wednesday May 18th at Leitz-Eagen Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd. Metairie, Louisiana 70006. On Thursday, May 19th , Visitation will be held from 11:15 – 12:00, with a mass to celebrate the life of Doug held at 12:00pm at St. Phillip Neri Church, 6500 Kawanee Ave., Metairie LA 70003 followed by a funeral procession to St Louis Church, 2226 Bayou Blue Rd, Houma, LA 70364 for a word service at 3:00pm followed by interment at St Louis Church Cemetery.
