In August of 1960 she began her journey of immigrating to Florida. She and her husband Dr. Ildefonso Mas had a zest for life and seeking adventure by traveling together. More than traveling, Carmen loved her family and practicing her faith.
Carmen is survived by a large and very loving family including her daughter Carmen Maria Iturralde (Santiago Iturralde); son Idelfonso J. Mas (Madeleen Mas); daughter Maria Cecilia Mas; and son Rafael J. Mas (Maria Eugenia Mas). She also leaves 14 grandchildren and extended family.
Carmen was preceded in death by her beloved spouse Dr. Idelfonso R. Mas and grandchild Nicole E. Mas.
Her children inspired by their parents also became a part of the medical field. In honor of Nicole E. Mas they created a successful foundation performing generous deeds in the South Florida community as well as other countries.
In lieu of flowers the family would greatly appreciate donations to be made to the Nicole E. Mas Foundation also known as M.A.S Foundation.
