Edith (Edie) Rackoff, 90, passed away peacefully in Jacksonville, Florida on Monday, March 12, 2018. Edith was born in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Miami, Florida, in 1955. She is pre-deceased by her husbands, Daniel Siegel and Seymour Rackoff and her sister Evelyn Berkowitz. She is survived by her loving daughter Robin Haugen (Steven), her sons Peter Siegel and Seymour Rackoff (Frederica), her grandchildren David Haugen, Michele Haugen Smith (Benjamin), Damon, Jeremy, Alexander and Xavier Siegel, her brother, Howard Hecker and her sister, Harriet Hacker.
Edie worked for the University of Miami Hurricanes Football Team as the Offensive Secretary for 18 years. She loved working with her co-workers, coaches and players and especially travelling to Bowl Games with the team and riding in the parades.
Edie was a kind and compassionate person towards everyone and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Graveside services will be held at the Mount Nebo Kendall Cemetery in Miami, Florida on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 11:00 am.
