Helen L. Herndon-Seaward Hawkins, 95 passed away on November 6, 2018 in Greenwood, SC. She was born on October 27, 1923 to James Herndon and Lula Mae (Barnhart) Herndon in Jacksonville, FL. Helen lived in Melbourne, FL for the past 27 years. She moved to Melbourne after living in Miami, Florida for over 40 years. She moved there after living in Orlando, FL for a few years following living in Jacksonville, FL. For the past 27years she has been a resident of Melbourne Florida and in 2000, married Vernon Van Hawkins. Helen is preceded in death by her first husband, Robert D. Seaward, her second husband, Vernon Van Hawkins and her granddaughter, Courtney Seaward-Summerlin. Survivors include a son Robert G Seaward, daughter in law, Linda Seaward and daughter, Susan D. Seaward-Descoteaux, three grandsons, Kenneth R. Isham, Eric R. Isham, Brian D. Schmalzle, and eight great grandchildren. The graveside service was held at Caballero Rivera Woodlawn Cemetery, 11655 SW 117 Avenue, Miami, FL. 33186 305-238-3672 at 1 pm.
