Robert (Bobby) Samuel Aberman passed away Tuesday, March 12 in his home in Jupiter, Florida. He was at peace and had his family beside him.

Bob was born in New York City on December 19, 1937, the first of three children to Moe and Anita Aberman. His childhood was spent playing baseball and football in the fields and sandlots of Brooklyn, going as far as being scouted professionally by the Brooklyn Dodgers before an injury ended his baseball career. He graduated from Franklin K. Lane High School at the age of 16.

He served honorably in the United States Army from October 1961-October 1963 as an Military Policeman in Germany.

He spent his entire career in the insurance industry, working his way up from file clerk to respected Account Executive, where he continued to service loyal clients who followed him long after he had “retired” in 1998.

Bob married Julia Arleo in 1969. Bob and Judy had two sons, Steven and Richard, and raised them in Babylon, Long Island.

He was a lover of books and movies, particularly anything made by Mel Brooks. Bob coached and played softball and baseball his whole life. He was a big sports fan and looked forward each Sunday to eating pasta and meatballs with his family while watching that afternoon’s Mets or Giants game.

After moving to Florida with his wife, Bob spent the last twenty years playing softball in Jupiter’s senior leagues and anxiously awaiting his next trip to Long Island to spend time with his children and five beloved grandchildren, Samantha, Jack, Katie, Sara and Jillian.
