Leo left the farm and worked as a bus driver in Watertown around the year 1940.
He attended a machinist trade course at Remington Institute in Watertown New York.
He spent four years in the infantry in World War II, and was cited for the service in the pacific campaign.
He returned to Watertown working for Bagley and Sewel, as a machinist, making parts for paper machines.
He left Watertown to go to Florida as a machinist and ended up working for Pensacola Naval Air Station (Civil Service Employment).
Later, when he retired after many years of service, he went on to purchasing and planning around 1987.
