

Richard W. Cuddy, Sr., age 78, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at home peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 27, 1936 in Dexter, Maine to the late William A. Cuddy and Flora B. Turner Cuddy.
Richard proudly served in the United States Navy for 20 years and worked in the Civil Service until his retirement. He was an avid fisherman and loved boating. He was a big Nascar fan (his favorite was Dale, Jr.,) most of all, he loved and cherished his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a great grandson, Kamden Babin; brothers, Edwin, James and William Cuddy, Jr.; and sisters, Agnes Davis, Cris Robertson, Vesta Calder and Alice Spulick.
Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years (celebrated in April 2015) Carolyn Cuddy; his son, Richard W. “Ricky” (Cindy) Cuddy, Jr. of Crestview, FL; his daughters, Debbie Cuddy (John Davis) Berry of Lakeland, FL and Renee Cuddy (Mike) Thompson of Pace, FL; eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; his sister, Lillian Blair of Carlsbad, CA; many nieces and nephews; and last but not least, his four legged companion and friend, Bentley.
Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 2 PM at Barrancas National Cemetery with full military honors. Pallbearers will be Josh Reasoner, Andy Hughes, John Hillman, Joey Babin, Timmy Babin, John Spulick, Willie Brackin and John Morgan. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, September 8, 2015 from 6 until 8 PM and Wednesday, September 9, from 11:30 AM until 12:30 PM.

Special thanks to friends Josh Morgan and Joann Gosnell, special nurses Patti and Sandy from West Florida Hospital, Covenant Hospice Staff Laura and Kim and Woodlands staff members Dr. Rami Owera, Dr. Irfan Ahmed & their sweet staff.
National Cremation & Burial Society of Milton has been entrusted with the arrangements.
