James Robert Kolcinski

Age 91 of Edina, passed away on February 5, 2020. He graduated South High in 1946 and U of MN School of Journalism in 1950. He served in the 47th Viking Infantry Div. during the Korean War. Once a civilian again, he worked in the advertising department at several companies eventually starting his own business, Ad Associates. After he retired from advertising, he enjoyed working weekends at the Edina Country Club for nearly 20 years, well past his 90th birthday.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Jennie (Bell) Kolcinski; sisters, Jean Kolcinski and Laurene (Charlie) Harrington.

Jim will be deeply missed by his wife, Jeanette; son, Stephen Kolcinski; daughter, Jane (Brian) Hagen; grandchildren, Tanya and Corey Hagen; and nephew, Gary (Linda) Harrington.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday, February 12 at Church of Christ the King, 5029 Zenith Ave S, Minneapolis. Visitation one hour prior to mass. Interment at Sunset Cemetery, Minneapolis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Highland Friendship Club or Tanya’s Polar Plunge page in support of her HFC Special Olympics team.
