I remember the best family vacation to the New York Worlds Fair and Cape Cod. Uncle Matt had everything planned seamlessly. It was so much fun. He let the girls listen to good music on the radio in the car too!

Summers at the cabin on Swan Lake were always fun. Uncle Matt knew how to fix up the old place to make it livable and fun.

I will always remember when he would fly to visit us. We never knew for sure when he could leave because of the weather. That was just amazing to me as a kid.

We will miss you.

I loved visiting Uncle Matt and asking him to tell me stories! He enjoyed sharing stories about daring adventures with my dad in their youth, and so many other stories of his long and eventful life. I am thankful for him!

Great-Uncle Matt taught me to really love my name. He taught me how the Finnish pronounce “Kaisa” and other things about our Finnish heritage. I enjoyed listening to his stories.
