Ronald Morgan Cavin was born on April 22, 1930 to Lillian and Edward Cavin in Detroit, Michigan. He graduated from Pershing High School in 1948. He served his country honorably for eight years in the US Army, where he was an electrical engineer and participated in boxing.
He married Stella Arvilla Gould on May 17, 1951. To this union were born eight beautiful children: Ronald Morgan II (preceded in death), Gary Roosevelt, Angela Arvilla (preceded in death), Robert Anthony, Daryl Edward, Samuel Jeffrey, Sharon Lillian (Tanner) and Ruth Maria.
Ron was a Mechanical Engineer with the Department of Defense, and he retired in September 1993. He was also a Red Coat with The Ohio State University (OSU), where he oversaw the ticketing admission for all sporting events including OSU football, OSU basketball and OSU track etc. In his free time he enjoyed playing golf as well as volunteering for the Memorial Golf Tournament, founded by Jack Nickolas.
Ron Cavin was a devoted father and grandfather to all his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He always made time for his family, and enjoyed traveling to Detroit to spend time with friends. He will be greatly missed and remembered for his quick wit and great sense of humor, and love of Jazz music.
