With sadness, the family of Rosaire Joseph Lefebvre (better known as "Joe" from Joe Cycle in the Mission, BC area), passed away peacefully on February 26, 2021, at Abbotsford Hospital, aged 95 years. Joe will be lovingly remembered and missed by Juana, his wife of 46 years; his 3 children from a previous marriage: Rosanne Nordine and her husband, Bryan; Catherine Lefebvre; and Donat Lefebvre. He had 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by 3 brothers: Rene, Jean Paul, Real, and 1 sister Rejeanne.
Joe was born March 16, 1925, in Montreal, Quebec, but grew up in Peace River Alberta. It was a hard life with little money or education. Joe was a handyman and could fix just about anything. As a young man, he was very resourceful at making a few dollars by trapping and doing miscellaneous repairs for other farmers. In the late 1950's to early 1970's, he worked in two plywood mills, Fraser Mills in Coquitlam, BC, and Timberland located in Surrey, BC. He spent his last 40-plus years self-employed repairing bicycles, welding, fabricating, and some house construction. He donated much time to the Westminster Abbey fabricating ornate metal gates and fencing. Joe was always willing to help neighbors, family, and friends with his skills and loved chatting with people.
Due to Covid-19 pandemic, a memorial service will be held at a later date, undetermined at this time.
