William Richard “Rick” Faulhaber, Jr., was born in Dallas, Texas, on September 28, 1941. He lived 76 fulfilling years until his passing in Mcallen, Texas, on August 6, 2018.

Rick was an avid reader, enjoying many subjects such as Texas and US history, thrillers, and mystery. He was an accomplished architectural designer with a genuine love for his profession and an admirable work ethic. At 13, he began a paper route for the Dallas Morning News, at 18 he worked with Merla Tool Company (Teledyne Industries) as a mechanical engineer assistant while also attending Southern Methodist University, and later, volunteered as a Pharr firefighter in his middle years. He was sociable, having met countless individuals and developing lasting friendships throughout his 47 years in the Rio Grande Valley. He was loved by all but especially by his family who affectionately called him Hopper and Fuzzy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jennye Elaine Sevier and William R. “Bill” Faulhaber, and his two brothers, Charles “Chuck” and Patrick Rodney Faulhaber.

Rick is survived by his brother Dewey Faulhaber; Mrs. Diana Kay Bartels and their three children: Jana Acevedo (Daniel), Eric Faulhaber (Louis), Ellen Parrish; Ms. Margo Tavera Faulhaber and their three children: Michael Tavera (Julie), William A. Faulhaber, and Michelle Faulhaber Perez (David); seven grandchildren: Justin Acevedo (Aissa), Aaron Acevedo (Brittany), Evan Acevedo, Alan Gruetzmacher, Kailly Tavera, Nickolas Tavera, and William Martin Faulhaber; three great-grandchildren: Aidan, Wyatt, and Madelyn Acevedo; and a beloved nephew, Allen Faulhaber (Mary Ann).

Visitation will be held Friday, August 10th, from 6-9pm in the Serenity Chapel of Del Angel Funeral Home in Mission. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 11th at 10:00 am at Del Angel Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Jana & Danny, My sincere condolences on your loss. Rick was a dear friend and a great person. I always enjoyed visiting with him sharing stories and many laughs. He will be dearly missed.
