Mom, I will never forget your response to me as your thirteen year old son, when I shared with you how Yehovah God had spoken to me audibly in a dream the night before. Yehovah in my dream called my name three times. I responded by saying "Yes Lord." Then He called my name a fourth time saying, "Gary, I want you to be a missionary for me." My response was very simply, "Yes Lord, I will." When I shared this with you the following morning you could have said that I was a silly boy. But Mom, you did not do that. With Godly wisdom, you said directly to me, "Gary, I believe you. Now let's pray now, and then see what God does." 
The destiny of my life continued in that direction for these many years, even in the midst of trials and problems that cost greatly. The same Heavenly Father Who calls and sends also protects and preserves. 
Mom, thank you for so many ways you impacted my life.
I love you so very much. Paulette and Gayle love you as well.
we will meet again soon.

Having grown  up in Alpine Hills and Spring Hill Baptist Church, I have lots of memories of Abilene.  Abilene and Paul were really close friends of my parents, Ruby and George Holland. Abilene and Mother were both flower lovers and long time members of Whispering Pines Garden Club. I once asked Abilene to help me plan a surprise birthday party for Mother because I knew she would know better than anyone, who to invite ( and she did).  When Mother made the very difficult decision to move from her and Daddy’s longtime home in Alpine Hills, one of the hardest things for her was leaving behind her Alpine Hills family, most especially Abilene! Fortunately, they were able to stay  close through church and phone calls.  Their friendship was strong and lasting.   I’m sure they are hugging in Heaven!!!
