He was a graduate of Murphy High School and attended Marion Institute where he played football and was a member of the band and rifle team. He was a Korean War Veteran serving as a sergeant in the Army National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents Hubert and Louise Nelms Igou and grandson, Michael D. Yeager.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Anita Smilie Igou, daughter Lynn Yeager (Mark), son Les Igou, Grandson Greg Yeager, granddaughter-in-law Jennifer Yeager, and great granddaughter Rowan Yeager.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, November 5, 2018 on the grounds of Pine Crest Cemetery, 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway.
