John Daniel Seignious, age 71, passed peacefully into eternity to be with the Lord Jesus Christ, at his home on August 31, 2023. John was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama, and has been residing in Gulf Shores, AL with his devoted wife of 33 years, Delores. John attended the University of Alabama and graduated from the University of South Alabama. He worked in the shipping industry for over 48 years at Bender Shipbuilding, and then its successors. John was a longtime member and former President of the Propeller Club of Mobile. John followed in the footsteps of his great-grandfather and father by obtaining his real estate license in Alabama. He was a loving and extremely devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. John loved fiercely and sacrificially for his wife and family. He worked hard and played hard. Some of John’s happiest moments in life were being outdoors on his patio with his family grilling the best barbeque and smoking an amazing brisket. John will be remembered by all his friends and family as being a man with a huge and humble heart and will be sadly missed by all. John is preceded in death by his parents, Charles W. Seignious, Sr. and Cleola E. (Mills) Seignious; brother, Charles W. Seignious, Jr. (Barbara) and sister, Christine Sharon (Seignious) Stinson. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Delores Griffin Seignious, brother-in-law, Winfred Stinson, children, Teressa Rounsaville Davis (Gary), Nathan Rounsaville, granddaughters, Marissa Davis, Amelia Looney Miller (Chris), nieces Vicki Jo Robinson Clarke (Charles) and Tracy Robinson Flurry, great-granddaughter, Zelda J. Miller, and many great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. Visitation to be held at Pine Crest Funeral Home, Dauphin Island Pkwy., Friday, September 8, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery.
