Roy E. Duhon, Jr, born December 25, 1944, passed away Tuesday, July 17th, 2018 after a heroic fight with an extended illness. Roy is survived by his wife of 43 years, Marjorie Meador Duhon and son, Thomas Benjamin Duhon (Ben). He was preceded in death by his father, Roy E. Duhon , Sr. and his mother, Helen Harvey Duhon of New Orleans, LA. He is survived by his brother, James E. Duhon of New Orleans; sisters, Joy Duhon Bell (Donald) of Mandeville, LA; and Margaret Duhon Fitzpatrick of New Orleans; nieces, Sally Bell Simonson (John) of Mandeville; Sharon Bell Robles (Bert) of Katy TX; John Fitzpatrick (Kristy) of Metairie, LA; Tim Fitzpatrick (Tara) of Montgomery AL; and Corey Fitzpatrick (Stacie) of New Orleans,as well as numerous extended family.
Roy was born and raised in New Orleans, served in the US Air Force, and retired from AT&T/Lucent Tech after 32 years. He was a longtime member of New Orleans Krewe of Endymion and celebrated New Orleans Mardi Gras his entire life. He brought considerable talents for cooking crawfish and crabs to the Eastern Shore 23 years ago and gave his handmade crab nets to favored fellow enthusiasts. After making Daphne his home, he stayed on the Bay as much as time allowed.
Due to the extreme heat, the family invites all to a casual celebration of life at Pine Crest Funeral Home, Dauphin Island Pkwy, at 10 am for visitation and 11 am service, Thursday, July 19th.
