October 21, 1952April 6, 2018

Overseer Sibyl W. Chambers was born October 21, 1952 in Mount Vernon, Alabama to the late Roosevelt Williams, Sr. and Ernestine Williams Beard. Overseer Sibyl credited her grandparents Mr. Ed and Mrs. Geneva Young for instilling Godly virtues in her and constantly reminding her never to settle for anything less than God had ordained for her life. Overseer Sibyl was an alumnus of Satsuma High School, graduating in the first integrated class en masse in 1970. She held a Bachelor of Science in Management of Human Resources from Faulkner University, Montgomery, Alabama and a Masters of Theological Studies from Spring Hill College, Mobile, Alabama. Overseer Sibyl had a very successful twenty year career with American Telephone and Telegraph (AT&T) where she piloted the Phone Center concept in the State of Alabama. She was also an accomplished writer with seven completed works in the Library of Congress. She was a Professor of Research Writing at New Pilgrim Christian College and Seminary in Saraland, Alabama. Overseer Sibyl was an Ordained Elder and in ministry alongside her husband William for over thirty years. In June 2004, they founded Koinonia Family Worship Center in Creola, Alabama. In addition to her role as Overseer she was the Executive Director of Love Abounds Non-Profit Organization which houses My Sister’s Keeper Women’s Ministry (MSK). MSK has chapters in Covington, Crenshaw and Mobile counties and is dedicated to serving women in shoes they are currently wearing. MSK has provided numerous self-help and educational opportunities to hundreds of women over the years. She received numerous awards and honors but she counted her greatest honor in life was that of wife and mother. She is preceded in death by two sisters, Wanda A. Arnold and Aurel J. Mixon. She leaves to cherish her memory a loving husband of forty-seven years, Overseer William Thomas Chambers of Creola, AL; five children: Tamara Vanessa (Joy) Chambers, Jon William Chambers, Thomas Wynton Hall-Chambers, Enoch David Hall-Chambers and Jasmine Denise (Tremayne) Crenshaw; four grandchildren: Mayson Allen Pritchard, Alexandria Janae Hall-Chambers, Alyssa Renee Hall-Chambers, and Daelen Tremayne Jay Crenshaw; a devoted brother, Rosey (Evelyn) Monticue; a devoted sister, Francene Trainor; thirty-five nieces and nephews, one devoted niece Natalie (Latasha) Caster; devoted godparents Dr. James and Mattie Abner; a devoted godson Robb Lee; a devoted goddaughter Elder Felecia Pruitt; devoted friends Reverend Frank and Andrea Turner, Reverend Leroy and Elaine Curry, and Evangelist Shirley Robertson. have a memory or condolence to add?

Joe Nix

April 17, 2018

Extending belated condolences to the Williams Family at this time and praying for your continuing comfort and strength. I am grateful that the Lord allowed our paths to cross by way of Bethel A.M.E. Church, Andalusia, Alabama. I shall forever remember Overseer Sibyl Williams Chambers for two of her favorite expressions: "Lord help" and "Say that". God bless!
