Christian Mark Balint, 26, Monroe Bearcat, first string goalie, skater, honor student, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 1, 2014. Christian suffered traumatic brain injury from a skateboarding accident in 2004, after which he courageously underwent numerous treatments yet remained in a coma until it was time for him to skate and play keeper once again in heaven. Christian will forever be remembered for his cont-agious sense of humor and hilarious antics that kept friends and family laughing constantly. Christian was a sophomore at Monroe High School at the time of his accident, where he was an Honor Student and played on the varsity men's soccer team as well as playing goalie for the select team Extreme. There wasn't a day that passed without Christian making someone smile, and even while he was in a coma we know that Christian touched many people's lives and made them better people. Christian is survived by his mother and father, Christine Schumacher and Steven Balint, stepfather John Schumacher, stepmother Bo Balint; brother and sister, Elijah and Hannah Schumacher, as well as a large extended family in the greater Seattle area. Jesus replied, "You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will under-stand." John 13:7
There will be a celebration of Christian's life at 2 p.m. on November 8, 2014 at Cascade Church in Monroe, WA, 14377 Fryelands Blvd., Monroe, WA 98272. A reception will follow immediately.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to either Seattle Children's Hospital or the Traumatic Brain Injury Association of Washington. -
