Robert Allen Johnson
November 16, 1947 – October 13, 2018
Robert (Bob) Allen Johnson, 70, of Monroe, Washington, passed away on October 13, 2018, after valiantly battling brain cancer. He died at his home surrounded by family.
Born to Edward and Ruie Johnson on November 16, 1947, in Shelton, Washington, where he was raised and graduated from Shelton High School in 1966. He attended Central Washington University earning a degree in Education and later a graduate degree in Land Use and Resource Management. He first worked as an Industrial Arts teacher and later opened his own business, Stop and Go Automotive, in Olympia. After graduate school, and working for Lewis County as a Senior Planner and Planning Manager, he landed his dream job as Director of Community Development. It was his dream job and he loved going to work every day.
Survived by his wife, Pamela and five brothers: George (Maureen), Vern (Carole), Les (Kay), Michael (Nancy) and Tom. His children: Scott (Tami), Kelly (Rick), Jennifer (Ray), Stephanie (Jeff), Michael and Cathy, Jeff (Talisa) and Steve (Reiko) Brennan. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and two great granddaughters all of whom were his greatest joy. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In his retirement, the only thing Bob enjoyed more than golfing was more golfing. He also enjoyed playing guitar, hiking and swimming in his pool in Arizona.
Both Bob and Pam want to acknowledge the wonderful care Bob received from Providence Hospice in Everett.
