Doris A Stiver passed away peacefully in her sleep early morning September 27th. Mother of Jaquie Stiver, Skip (William) Stiver, Helen L Stiver and Joel Stiver. Doting grandmother to Haven, Jake, and Milo. Loving aunt and great aunt of the Widman and Stiver families.
As a devoted educator, Doris was passionate about instilling a sense of confidence and independence in her cherished Special Education students at Roosevelt school in Pasadena, California.
Dedicated to helping others throughout her life she was active in The Girl Scouts and Jobs Daughters in her youth and once again as a Girl Scout Troop leader for both of her daughters. Doris also played a supportive role in both of her son’s activities, helping her youngest achieve Eagle Scout status in The Boy Scouts.
As a lifelong crafts person, Doris carried on traditional skills she learned from her parents. She was a skilled seamstress, quilter, woodworker, antique doll repair person and more. She was an adventurous person who strongly believed in the importance of literacy and education, dedicating her time and financial support to P.E.O. Philanthropic Educational Organization, celebrating the advancement of women through scholarships, grants, awards, and loans.
Doris A Stiver will be laid to rest at Live Oak Memorial Park in Monrovia on October 20th, 2023, with a small graveside service for immediate family. Following there will be a celebration of life luncheon where friends and family are welcome to gather and reminisce.
