Uncle Gil was an awesome man and I always looked forward to speaking with him at family get togethers. The last time I saw him he fixed my tie for me as I hadn't worn one in so long I forgot how to tie one property and he laughed at me while making it nice and neat. His bond with his daughter Sienna is something I always admired and hope to have with my daughter. I will miss uncle Gil's smile and infectious laugh. RIP, Scott

I feel so very lucky to have known a volunteer as good a person as Gil. After moving away, whenever I’ve gone into the station, If Gil was there, i was greeted with a hug and a big smile. He will be so very much missed.

There are so many great memories with "Big" Gil. He was always fun to be around! He was so kind and always willing to help. His smile would light up any conversation. Gil will be so missed by so many.

I have always found Gil respectful, helpful, considerate and kind. His support of new volunteers and the program seemed limitless.

Gil aka "Big Gil" would always stop by my office to say good morning no matter how busy he was. He would ask how my husband and daughter were doing. He was a very kind gentleman who was quick to laugh. All the new Volunteers would look to him for guidance and advice. The men and women of the Norwalk Sheriff's Station Volunteer Program will miss him dearly.

Mr Valeriano was a great example of a man of faith always going to mass, a husband always by his wife’s side, a father always attentive to his daughter Sienna’s needs and true citizen always at working the voting booth and most of all a great grand father always with his grand son. May God shine his light on his soul and may his family find comfort in their faith.
