OBITUARY

Edna S. Ward

October 21, 1934April 6, 2021

On 6 Apr 2021, Edna Sue Simpson Ward went to be with her Lord and Savior. She died under the care of hospice and never gave up her strong Christian faith.

She became acquainted with a senior in high school when she was only a sophomore. She quit high school in her junior year to be with the military man she always loved. She was able to see most of the United States and had three overseas tours with him during the next twenty-six years. Her life centered around her family. She enjoyed cooking and caring for them. She was a fantastic cook and special- occasions was her forte.

She found time to be a church secretary, and teach children on Sundays. But this did not end her career. She bootstrapped her way to earn a university degree during her not so spare time. She solidified a career in computer science and spent her last working years as a computer specialist. And she consistently found a strong prayer group to be involved with. She was truly “a people person.” Her interests always involved the great outdoors. She was a natural with plants and could grow the most colorful flowers. She was in her favorite environment during Alaska living – camping and sight-seeing.

She is survived by her husband, Edsel Ward; children, Pamela Jamieson, Kerri Nine (Bob), Kimberly Petrick (Carl); five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her son, Michael Ward; and one grandchild.
