Edward Ki Sohn

Edward Yong-Ki Sohn, 87, passed away on August 21, 2019. Predeceased by his parents Sohn In Ok and Bang Pil Man.
He leaves behind his beloved wife Sung Ae Sohn, daughter Mellina and her husband Joseph.
Edward was born in Busan, South Korea on April 3rd, 1932. At a young age, he loved to play tennis, golf, and the violin. He was a man of faith and a lover of classical music. During the Korean War, he served in the Korean Army Police. He majored in economics at Busan University and later immigrated to New York in 1982. Shortly after arriving, he met his wife Sung and on December 3rd, 1988 they were married. Last year they celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. In 2002, he retired from Daiwa Securities Group after 17 years. He was a parishioner at Arcola Korean United Methodist Church for almost 20 years while living in New Jersey. After moving to Alabama in 2012, he and his wife attended Prattville Korean UMC.
He was patient and strong. He always had a warm smile and was kind to everyone. He adored his family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service on Friday, August 23 7:30 PM at Prattville Korean UMC, 100 E 4th Street, Prattville, AL 36067.

Entombment at George Washington Memorial Park, 234 Paramus Rd, Paramus, NJ 07652 is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, August 31st. Time to be announced.
