Sonny, (Frank Edward) Turner Jr., age 73, of Hope Hull, Alabama passed away on Friday March 22, 2019. Sonny was born January 19, 1946 in Columbus, Georgia to Nell Kimberly Turner and Frank Edward Turner.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Caldwell Turner; daughters Melissa (Tommy) Garnett and Kimberly (Mark) Milstead; and son Scott Turner; brother-in-law Robert Stadnik ; grandchildren Matthew Garnett, Joshua Garnett, Adam Garnett, Alyssa Spivey, Forrest Milstead, Anabeth Milstead, Mac Turner, horses; Dee Dee, Cee Cee and Dixie. Mr. Turner was preceded in death by; parents Frank Edward Turner Sr. and Nell Kimberly Turner as well as sister Judy Stadnik.
A visitation for Sonny will be held Monday, March 25, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109. A celebration of life will occur Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Hope Hull United Methodist Church, 305 Wasden Road, Hope Hull, AL 36043. As early as 15, Sonny went to work as a mover, packing and loading others' belongings. After a few years in the Navy, he worked for Coleman American Moving Company. Within a few months he was promoted from branch manager to general manager where he worked until retirement. Sonny loved his family and his horses. A woodworker who was good with his hands, he enjoyed trail rides and quarter horses. Part of the Crosswalk Sunday School Class, he was very involved in his church, Hope Hull United Methodist Church. Serving as pallbearers are Matthew Garnett, Joshua Garnett, Adam Garnett, Mac Turner, Forrest Milstead, Austin Collins and Crosswalk Class. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Frank's memory may be made to Hope Hull United Methodist Church, 305 Wasden Road, Hope Hull, Alabama 36043.
