Joyce Marie (Arnette) Thanem

January 13, 1940February 21, 2018

Joyce Marie Arnette Thanem, age 78, of Montgomery, Alabama went to be with the Lord on Wednesday February 21, 2018. Joyce was born January 13, 1940.

A visitation for Mrs. Thanem will be Sunday, February 25, 2018 at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home from 10:00am until 11:45 am. Graveside service will follow in Greenwood Cemetery at 12:00 pm with Grady Arnette officiating.

Mrs. Thanem is survived by her children; Samuel Thanem, Yvonne Thanem, Teresa Adams, Daniel Thanem and Mike Thanem. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Zakery Thanem, Samantha Carter, Patrick Thanem, Heather Squire, Joseph Thanem, Ashley Thanem, Justin Thanem, Mike Athey and Carl Athey and her brother, Wilson Arnette. Many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews are left to cherish her memory.

Preceding Mrs. Thanem in death were her parents; Lewis and Lillie Arnette; her beloved husband, Lawrence Thanem; a son, Joseph N. Thanem and a grandson, Jonathan Wade Thanem. Also preceding her in death were her brothers and sisters; Lewis Arnette, Billy Arnette, Grady Arnette, Edna Arnette Wells and Addie Lee Arnette Noe.

Mrs. Thanem was affectionately known as "Nana". She loved Alabama football and was a fan of Coach "Bear" Bryant. Nana loved her family and never met a stranger. Her family said that Nana made THE BEST noodles and chicken in the world. She was well loved.

Wilson Arnette, brother, and Kitty Arnette express there condolences and sympathies and prayers to the chrildern and family and so sad about the lost of his last sistter, she was loved by us and many and I, Kitty remember the first time I met her she made me part of this family and made me feel right at home with all Wilson's family.
