Lorene M. Lincoln

Lorene M. Lincoln, 77 of Montgomery passed away December 27, 2020 from complications of pneumonia after a fall. Lorene was born April 10, 1943 in Dahlonega, GA to Bonell and Benjamin Grizzle. She had a large family and moved to Marietta, GA where she later married her husband Robert Lincoln of Illinois in 1959. At age 16, having never left Georgia, she and her husband were stationed in Europe for an extended tour by the US Air Force including Italy and England, where her daughter was born. The family settled in Montgomery, AL in the late 1970's, where Lorene worked in retail fashion at stores such as Gayfers, Dillard's, Parisian, and for the past 20 years at Belk as a Ralph Lauren specialist. Lorene was a member of Frazer United Methodist Church and she loved to tell stories about adventures she and her friends had while on vacation with her church group. Lorene loved to bowl, she and her teams won many championships. She loved to complete difficult jigsaw puzzles and watch her favorite murder mysteries on television. Lorene loved her family and friends; she will be greatly missed by her daughter and all those that knew her. She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Lorene Lincoln, of Montgomery, AL and sister, Jean Patterson of Marietta, GA; brothers and sisters in-law, nieces and nephews. Lorene was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lincoln; her mother, Bonell Stevens; father Benjamin Grizzle; brothers, Roy Grizzle, Lloyd Grizzle, Arnold Grizzle; and sister, Dorothy Jenkins. A private burial will be at Alabama Heritage Cemetery. Due to the pandemic, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, and the family will accept flowers then.
