After a two year term of service in the Army, he returned to Montgomery in 1953, where he was employed at Cloverland IGA. After years of dedicated work, he became a part of management and later became the owner. As a great manager and leader, he enjoyed giving employment opportunities to many young people and helping them “learn how to work.” After 44 years, he retired in 1997 and enjoyed being around his home in Snowdoun, AL. He was known for his honesty, diligence, strength, and determination throughout life. His legacy of hard work has been passed down to many. Norman loved his family and was devoted to providing for them well. He made time for his children and grandchildren, and enjoyed playing with them. He thrilled grandkids by taking the little ones on his riding lawn-mower, range rover, and four-wheeler. He loved his farm in the country and especially the pond that he owned in Ramer. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and watching all sports on TV, especially boxing. He thrived at making things grow, taking care of his cattle, plants, and working with his tractor. Norman appreciated his many friends in the Montgomery and Snowdoun communities.
