

Robert Cecil Housch, 84, passed away peacefully August 18, 2014. He was born and grew up in Lincoln County, Tennessee. His parents, Toby and Clara Housch preceded him in death as did his brother, Merlin Housch and his sister, Irene Housch Warren, both of Shelbyville, Tennessee. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Mildred Carr Housch, one daughter Cecilia Elaine Housch Porterfield and her husband Randy, grandchildren Randal and Miranda, and nieces, nephews and extended family. Robert’s careers embodied service to others. He retired as SMSGT from the USAF, having distinguished himself by extraordinary service in Korea, Panama and at Maxwell AFB in Casualty Assistance Duty and Personnel Inspector in the Air University Inspector General’s office. He then had a 27 year career as State Supervisor with AL State Dept of Vocational Rehabilitation Services. He was a faithful member of the Church of Christ, serving as a deacon, elder and Bible class teacher. He was also adjunct professor at Amridge, Troy and Faulkner. He was dedicated to his work as liaison for Thailand missions for many years. Visitation Thursday, 5:00-7:00; Funeral Service Friday, 11:00 at Leak-Memory Chapel.
