Annie was born in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina on April 17, 1929, to the late Rufus Milan Colbert & Della Jane Ferguson Colbert. She was married to the late Isiah Daniel Corpening, Sr., who preceded her in death in 1960; and to her husband of forty four years, Robert Lee White. Annie was a furniture inspector at Drexel Heritage Furniture, where she retired after many years of service. At an early age, she became the family matriarch. She was an avid reader, enjoyed puzzles, and was an excellent cook. Most of all, Annie loved her family. She was a loving wife, a great mother, a wonderful aunt, and was a surrogate mother to all. She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her first husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Nebraska, Ruben, William “Bill”, Thomas, and Fred Colbert; and five sisters, John Dallas Horton, Grace Dowell, Jessie Mae Colbert, Verna Horton, and Wilma “Bell” Jackson.
Annie is survived by her husband, Robert Lee White; a son, Isiah Daniel Corpening, Jr. & wife Charlene; a grandson, Isiah Daniel Corpening, III, all of Charlotte; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
